Dota 2~!

Hello guys. School holidays have started and my 6 days leave just started as well so I'd like to take this opportunity to update you on what's happening with the team now.

During the streaming of the first ever Dota 2 tournament few months ago, I happened to notice one advertisement of Steam about putting down my name to be able to play Dota 2. I did and a month ago I filled up one kind of survey that Steam asked to fill in order to be able to play Dota 2 and a week ago, I installed Dota 2!

Now here I am, with the game in my PC, and I also managed to give two of my EoG teammates, Dejamoon and iMkSeR, the chance to experience the game together. But oh how we did not expect it to be hard with the shops in the base being crammed into one, the graphics as elaborate as HoN is, and most of all, the delay of playing with other countries.

I hope after a few weeks of training we can somehow polish our Dota 2 skills and initiation to an extent of being able to terrorize enemies once more.

P/s: Quoting Dejamoon: "gimme a month, I'll be so pro in Dota 2" - let us see after a month what happens. :)

16 Months

Oh my god, it has been 16 (yes, six-effin'-teen) months since our last update. Sigh. I even forgot totally about the blog since we were no longer active in DotA scene.

But what now? There have been suggestions by the team captain, Dejamoon, on the idea of getting the boys back together. Shall we see the return of EoG? If yes, will we carry the same name or will we be competing with a new, perhaps, less cheesy name? How will the roster looks like and is there any chance of oldtimers such as Putih or CaPiQ getting back in the team? Stay tune for the updates folks.

Most of EoG players watched the live streaming of DotA 2 and frankly speaking, the game seems awesome in every aspect, except of course, the sudden upgrade of the graphics rendering all teamfights look exactly like HoN! We explored the idea of playing DotA 2 later - of course how much it will cost will have a significant effect on whether we are going to play the game or not.

Some bonus replays for you guys to feast on.

Replay 1 (1.24e)
Replay 2 (1.26a)

Cheers.

Back from the Dead

Hello everyone out there, Jynxie here.

To tell you the truth, everyone from EoG are doing just great nowadays. From the previous update, up until recently, yes we've been concentrating more on personal matters, sorting out everything and what-not. Now that everything is in order, we have geared ourselves on to returning to the big scene again. This time around we would like to be of more impact than last year did as this year would probably spell the end of some of our careers in DotA to be honest. Time's catching up inevitably. People move on. That's it.

BUT, no worries, we are still here to dazzle you guys (fans & haters) with our skills and determination, plus exclusives from the players from time to time. I expect us to do well this term with the help of a new member on board, QueenCondom or better known as "Mole". =.= Well what do you expect, he chose that nickname. Putih is officially out of the clan, while CaPiQ is pretty much inactive, BlitzKreig has left EoG because of our inactiveness, and xZapple is concentrating with his studies (SPM this year), so roxsteady has been drafted back into the lineup.

Back to the topic, well we've been training everyday nowadays. Expect to see us in Clan War rooms at night. Everyone has been busy contemplating/formulating new strategies or play-style. We should be in Ipoh's SMM Qualifier, Insyaallah. I for one, am certainly hoping for the best from the event.

Well that's it from me right now, will be updating more often now, don't worry. I just ran out of ideas that's all. =)

Tournament, tournament, tournament.

Wow. It has been more than a month after this blog was last updated. In that frame of time, it is safe to say a LOT has happened, especially to EoG.

Advancement from the 1st round in MHLR Retribution #11

I'm going to start off on our participation in various tournament. Last Friday, we competed in the first round of the MHLR Retribution #11 in which the result favored us thus resulting in EoG advancing to the next round (bracket). Unfortunately, there was no replay available as the game was reloaded once after a player dropped.

2nd in Raksasa Dota Mini Tournament

The day after that, we went to another tournament, this time an offline event somewhere in Selayang. The first day was a walk in the park, leaving the second day with only 3 teams vying for top spot. It was not to be as we were stomped in the first game against Aiman Tak Kisah. Morale was at a particular low at that time, so we composed ourselves (kinda released our frustation of previous defeat) and defeated SpL soundly to claim the second spot. The day ended with the organizers treating everyone associated, either directly or indirectly with the tournament, with light meal and beverages. Again, no replays are available.

As for this weekend, EoG WILL be going to SMM in Melaka. Although we are not really the expected winner, anything can happen at an offline event. Wish us luck though! I expect us to enjoy our time there.

To end this long-awaited post/update, I hope more of the community could attend SMM as I feel it's imperative for this kind of global event to supported. We here at EoG would like to thank all our fans who have been tremendous over this past couple of months.

On a different note, I would kindly stress that obscene words in the ShoutMix will not be tolerated (post deleted, IP banned).

Charity DotA Tournament - Top 16

EoG had entered a tournament in FTZ Asia.net Cafe, Subang Jaya this past weekend (3rd & 4th October 2009). Visit these sites for information on this particular tournament.

A week prior to this tournament, we were facing dilemmas as Blitzkreig wasn't available as he's approaching his midterms so we decided to let "fGm.DeJa^Vu|Wan" from the clan fGm to be our stand-in player and with CaPiQ's unavailability for SMM Selangor in the following weekend of this tournament, CaPiQ himself decided to give way for our new recruit "xacrifizers" to train with the team.

So, this is the lineup that played in the Charity DotA Tournament.

On the day of the tournament we arrived at FTZ Asia.net Cafe around 10 o'clock in the morning and registered successfully. After the arrival of all teams who registered for this tournament, the games commenced and we were up for our first match against the team LuVz. It was a pretty close game but in the end we won.

LuVz vs EoG

The second game was against Mz. For us, the game was really hard as we were stomped by them and thus, we lost it.

Mz vs EoG

The last game in the group was against Hot Rangers was (no offense) a stroll in the park for us.

HOT! vs EoG

The next day, in the following round after the group phase, we we paired with the team Xenon. It was a pretty much dissapointing game as we lost dreadfully. Nevertheless, here's the last replay.

EoG vs Xenon

All of us at EoG would like to thank fGm.DeJa^Vu|Wan for his contributions and apologize for our dismal performance in this tournament. Thanks for all of your support towards EoG.

Even Soda (roxsteady) was there to spectate plus a female friend from our college named Nadd who volunteered to be our photographer. Here's the pics.

BgL Cup Final

As the match that was heavily anticipated by EoG's players as well as our fans proceeded, the night turns out to be a night to forget. EoG has had to settled for 2nd place in this tournament.
As for the assessment, it was agreed that we weren't outpicked, but effectively outplayed by Leap Gaming.

Sorry guys for the late update, I was kinda busy these few days. Here's the replay.

Replay Sidebar Now Available

In light of the few requests for a section on the side of this blog to be made especially for EoG's replays, CaPiQ have succeeded in doing so.
You can now access all of our replays on your right hand side just below the Chatbox.

BgL Cup Semi Final

EoG had advanced to the Semi Final of the BgL Cup and we faced the team 19 Heaven. It was a surprisingly one-sided game and without further ado, here's the replay.

BgL Cup 2nd Round

In the 2nd round of BgL Cup, EoG faced the team OutsideSettle in a best of 1 match. Nothing much to comment on except that we won, "xacrifizers" were used as our stand-in as Afiq "BlitzKreig" Hilmie was unavailable and here's the corresponding replay.

Enjoy.
